Built Records is a design firm in the broadest sense, but principally designs buildings.
Before the age of musical recordings, Schelling said 'architecture is frozen music.' Architecture, like a musical recording, is also a tangible document, or record, of the ideas and work of everyone involved in the realization of a building. Lastly, the name Built Records testifies to a drive to get progressive projects built.
Principal Jack Douglas Eure III holds a MArch degree
from the University of Oregon and an interdisciplinary BA from Vanderbilt University
in the History of Contemporary Ideas. Mr. Eure's background in the humanities,
especially philosophy and critical theory, is balanced by years of construction
experience. His formative experiences include his landscape architecture studies
in the Japanese gardens and temples of Kyoto, and his apprenticeship on the
building crew of Rick Joy in Tucson, AZ, who remains far and away his favorite
architect. Mr. Eure managed all aspects of construction for Metropolitain Architects
before founding Built Records.
Like a record company, Built Records employs young, rakish creative types. Our
rock stars have a very hard-working bent. Inborn talent and long travails earn
them the title, Producer.
